Rumi was a great believer that unity could be discovered and reached through the use of music, poetry and dance. He is a great example of how connecting yoga into the every day can be possible. Creativity being a very important component of how we can get closer and richer in our quest for self-transformation. In many countries of the East, people hold the normal jobs of doctors, teachers, accountants etc, yet behind the scenes they are also extremely talented painters, musicians or dancers. Many of their themes would be of the divine, re-telling sacred stories or depicting nature's beauty and very little emotional self-expression as is common in the West. Meditation through a creative medium really. Being allowed the space and support to create must be very satisfying, and a sure step in helping find balance in their lives.
